THE STORY

• The shape of the project site is elongated and narrow, extending east-west. A major Wadi drains throughout the site’s entire length, creating a physical chasm between a north and a south plateau in the eastern portion of the site. The local climate is hot and arid with strong winds.

• Dirayah was the original home of the Saudi royal family and served as the capital of the first dynasty from 1744 to 1818. Today, the town is the seat of the Dirayah Governorate Saudi State.

• A main feature to the master plan is the vehicular and pedestrian circulation. Traffic is diffused into Villages through the scenic Wadi route road. An organized network of trails for walking, cycling, and horseback riding was created with landscaped corridors, which link the communities and amenities together.

• Individual neighborhood enclaves are also celebrated with secured gates and formal architecture to create distinctions for each neighborhood.

• The resort/community core is the major activity node and the signature destination, located at the heart of the community. It contains a boutique Resort, featuring a luxury hotel, casita bungalows, a spa, pools, recreation center, fitness rooms, fine dining restaurants, boutique shops, prayer rooms and underground parking.

• A sports park will also include soccer fields, basketball courts, playgrounds and picnic areas. A Juma Mosque and daycare facility are also located nearby.
