THE STORY

The Cannery Club serves the 55+ active adult community of Twin Oaks, creating an environment for social stimulation, overall wellness and everyday activity. The clubhouse at Twin Oaks sits at the heart of a walkable community, with a network of walking paths amidst historic Oak trees. The design of the clubhouse mimics the rural, small-town feel of the surrounding community. Reflective of the area’s agricultural roots and history, the Twin Oaks clubhouse features elements of the packing and cannery buildings that once stood there. Corrugated metal siding and pitched metal roofing form an industrial architecture style along with stone details around the entrance, adding warmth to the front elevation. Two large, heritage oak trees frame the clubhouse on each side, inspiring the name for the Twin Oaks community.

Views out the back of the building face west to allow for exposure to afternoon sun and picturesque sunsets. A variety of spaces are provided throughout the design, with an emphasis on indoor and outdoor living. Tall ceilings and walls of glass provide seamless zoning, creating a variety of spaces for gathering. To keep residents on the move, this clubhouse features a spacious fitness room, movement studio, outdoor yoga area, bocce ball and pickleball courts. Additional amenities consist of a resort-style swimming pool and covered logia with outdoor seating and a grand fireplace. Our designers thought of everything for this community, even a covered dog-washing station.
