Located in the City of Rancho Mirage, our city-owned and operated income and Age Selective (55+) rental community met the city’s strong desire for attractive affordable housing. Built on 8.7 acres, the intricate trail system and sidewalks create a walkable and social atmosphere for the residents. Working in collaboration with the client and city, we focused on conscious and sustainable design creating a Silver LEED Certified development.
To accentuate the picturesque views per unit required a variety of plotting to balance duplexes and triplexes into efficient clusters. Taking our cue from the surrounding community we emphasized the desert elements of the local landscape for the exterior design and elevation features. The cactus wren was used as inspiration for the sculptures and signage throughout the community. The development consists of 82 attached units ranging from 795-1,092 square feet and each unit comes equipped with a private oversized 1-car enclosed garage, private patio, and indoor laundry closet. The amenities include a salt-water pool and spa, bark park with agility equipment, putting green, passive seating areas, internal walking trails that connect to public pedestrian paths, direct access to Whitewater Park and Rancho Mirage Library and artful landscape including sculptures and signage.
