CASE STUDY
Coastline Ventura
The 11-acre, 231-unit Ventura Triangle project, adjacent to Downtown and steps to the beach, had been in the works for some 15 years—beginning with the City’s Downtown Specific Plan, General Plan and Comprehensive Plan (Local Coastal Program) outlining definitive goals and objectives for the site. Working within the tightly established constraints, WHA and Johnson Development Associates (JDA) designed a unique blufftop enclave overlooking the Pacific with 1,500+ feet of ocean-facing frontage.

The Ventura Triangle project had been in the works for some 15 years, but in the end, it was definitely worth the wait. Influenced by the sun-kissed beauty of the coastal setting, inspired by the design imagination of modernists from an earlier era, and made possible in part by the creativity and persistent determination of WHA, this rare blufftop gem represents an incomparable way of life for beach lovers of all ages.
Levity at Tustin Legacy
Levity is a textbook showcase of WHA’s fully integrated design approach. With many studio disciplines all under one roof functioning in concert with one another, we worked as a true team—creating a brand-new notion of home that experienced soaring success in Orange County, California.

A diverse mix of single-family detached cluster homes, row townhomes and motor court flats in different sizes and price points ensured there’s something for all - from first-time buyers and empty nesters to everyone in-between. The robust product segmentation strategy was a definite factor in Levity’s success.
RIVERSTONE
Rising from a patchwork of orange, pistachio, almond and olive trees in southeast Madera County set before Sierra Nevada views, Riverstone is a 2,000-acre master-planned community where people of every generation enjoy the relaxed and informal spirit of the Golden State.

Riverstone’s big ideas - which was inspired by its surrounding agrarian lands - is to celebrate the unique and endearing California lifestyle that’s woven all throughout the Central Valley in towns like Madera, Fresno and Clovis. Our creative work contributed to Riverstone’s recognition as the NAHB’s 2018 Master-Planned Community of the Year.
BOULEVARD

Overland
As one of the most popular relocation destinations in the country, Colorado is a magical, multifaceted place that holds a special allure. People flock to the Rocky Mountain State for big skies, endless views and healthier, more active living in the great outdoors. And more often than not these days,
Northern Colorado has the greatest appeal.
NoCo is becoming the place to settle in, raise a family and enjoy the same natural beauty that inspired mid-1800s-era settlers to cross the Great Plains to Colorado and stake their claims in a new frontier. Today’s modern-day pioneers can do just the same. In a town called Windsor, and in a new community called Overland.
Ladera Ranch
Ladera Ranch is a 4,000-acre master-planned community located on land once part of the ranch lands owned by Rancho Mission Viejo characterized by rolling terrain, natural open space, arroyos, and distant mountain views. At the time Rancho Mission Viejo sought to begin this project, major competition between other communities and builders required thoughtful design and strategic solutions.

Unlike the competition, Ladera Ranch was geographically isolated and distanced from basic services. In order to be successful, Ladera would need to provide retail, schools, and other amenities. Also, the community had to be desirable and affordable to draw in prospective homeowners.
