THE STORY

The Crossroads at Washington brings 86 affordable homes to Santa Ana’s historic Logan neighborhood, created through a public-private partnership with Related California, A Community of Friends (ACOF), the City of Santa Ana, and the County of Orange.  Designed for families and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) residents, the community offers a range of studios to four-bedroom apartments spanning 572 to 1,286 square feet. Mission Revival architecture with stucco facades, articulated detailing, and warm tones reflects the city’s heritage while establishing a welcoming presence within its growing transit-oriented district.

The development is composed of two buildings—one four-story structure with community amenities, leasing offices, and a ground-floor retail component, and a second building ranging from two to three stories of residential living. Outdoor amenities include a pool, tot lot, dog run, and barbecue/picnic areas, while thoughtful acoustical design mitigates noise from both the I-5 freeway and nearby rail line to ensure resident comfort. With its walkable location near transit and downtown, The Crossroads at Washington adds much-needed density while strengthening Santa Ana’s urban fabric with high-quality, award-winning affordable housing.

The Crossroads at Washington has been recognized with multiple honors, including the 2025 Opportunity and Empowerment Award from the APA Orange Section, the 2025 Affordable Housing Project of the Year by The Kennedy Commission, and the 2025 Public-Private Partnership Award from the Orange County Business Council.
