In collaboration with Orangewood, HomeAid Orange County, and Lennar, WHA designed a three-story residential building that blends in with the other academic buildings on the Samueli Academy campus. Six “apartments” house about 48 students, each providing five bedrooms (some double occupancy), a great room and kitchen, 3.5 baths, and a laundry room. This "Youth Connected Residence" provides focused educational opportunities for foster care high school teens. The exterior features a mix of materials including metal panel siding, and stucco, as well as symmetrical windows and decks on each level with metal railings.
